EGYPT WITH NILE CRUISE

Day 1, September 2, Tuesday: Flight from New York to Cairo.

 

Day 2, September 3, Wednesday: Arrival in Cairo. Assistance at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

 

Day 3, September 4, Thursday: Cairo After breakfast, we will head to the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. Afterwards, we will go to visit the Egyptian Museum where the treasures of King Tut-Ein are exhibited. Khamon . Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 4, September 5, Friday: Aswan In the morning we will fly to Aswan . We will start our tour by visiting the Temple of Philae, including visits to the Incomplete Obelisk and the High Dam. Then we will take our cruise on the Nile River. After lunch we will have the opportunity to ride a Felucca and go around the Agha Monument. Khan No visi. Accommodation and Dinner on board.

 

Day 5, September 6, Saturday     Aswan morning free on the boat or -possibility of an optional Abu Simbel excursion by bus ($130 per person with a minimum of 15 people) OR an optional excursion to the Nubian village ($50 per person with a minimum of 15 people). In the afternoon we will head towards Kom Ombo. There we will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo (free) , situated on top of the hill with a panoramic view of the Nile River. We will continue our journey along the river to Edfu. Accommodation and dinner on board.

 

Day 6, September 7, Sunday: Edfu Arrival in the morning in Edfu. We will visit the Temple of Edfu and continue to Luxor. We will visit the Eastern Riviera with its Luxor Temple. Accommodation and dinner on board.

 

Day 7, September 8, Monday: Luxor Today we will visit the West Coast and visit the Valley of the Kings. We will also visit the Temple of Hatsherpsut At Deire El Bahari and the Colossus of Memmon. And we will visit the Karnak Temple. Dinner at a restaurant. Tonight we will take a flight to Cairo, we will be transferred to the hotel. (Possibility of taking a hot air balloon for $160 per person with a minimum of 8 people). Overnight in Cairo.

 

Day 8, September 9, Tuesday: Flight home Those returning home today will be transferred to the airport early in the morning. Arrival on the same day.

Day 1, Monday, Dec 1: Transatlantic flight with movies, dinner and breakfast.

 

Day 2, Tuesday, Dec 2: Arrival in Amman (Jordan), where you will meet the aviatours staff who will assist you at the airport. Transfer to our hotel. Dinner and accommodation in Amman.

 

Day 3, Wednesday, Dec 3: A full day trip to explore the mysteries of Petra, declared as one of the World’s wonders. This Nabatean shelter town is built into de sand rock of an amazing canyon. It used to be a shelter for caravans travelling from ancient Egypt to Syria. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 4, Thursday, Dec 4: Transfer to the border bridge with Israel and from there to our hotel in Jerusalem. Subject to time, we will visit Mount Nebo where Moses saw the Promised Land. We arrive at the Mount of Olives (EZ 11,23), and the Chapel of the Ascension. We will follow the path Jesus walked on Palm Sunday to the Garden of Gethsemane (MT. 26:30-56) and visit the Church of All Nations. The bus will take us through the Kidron Valley, (we will be able to see Absalom's Pillar and Zechariah's tomb). We will proceed to Mount Zion to the Cenacle, where the Last Supper took place (MT. 26:26-35), and nearby, the tomb of King David. Dinner and accommodation in Jerusalem.

 

Day 5, Friday Dec 5. Free day for shopping or private visits. Optional tour to Qumran / Masada / Dead Sea ($125) We will cross the Judean desert to Qumran where the original Dead Sea scrolls were found. Next, Masada, the fortress-palace built by King Herod. Here in 73 AD 960 Jewish Zealots committed suicide before falling into Roman hands. The summit is reached by a funicular that allows us to admire a spectacular panoramic view of the entire surrounding territory. From Masada, we visit the Dead Sea—the lowest point earth, rich in minerals, God’s gift to the skin. Dip and float on the Sea to cool off. Dinner and night in Jerusalem.

 

Day 6, Saturday, Dec 6: Bethlehem / Wailing Wall / Garden Tomb In the morning we will visit Bethlehem - the Basilica of the Nativity and the Shepherds' Field. In the afternoon we will visit the Wailing Wall (Western Wall)—the last remnant of the temple built by King Herod. We will finish with a very spiritual visit to the Garden Tomb. HE resurrected from here. Transfer to Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Galilee.

 

Day 7 Sunday Dec 7: Capernaum / Tabgha / Mount of Beatitudes / After breakfast we will sail by boat on the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum (MT. 4:13) and visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue and the Byzantine Chapel at the site of St. Peter's House. Next, we will visit Tabgha, where Jesus performed the multiplication of the loaves and fishes (Mark 6:30-46), the Mount of Beatitudes (MT. 5:1-12). In the afternoon we will visit Caesarea Philippi where He presented Himself to Peter as the Son of God! Dinner and overnight in Galilee.

 

Day 8, Monday, Dec 8, Nazareth / Cana / Jordan River We will begin the day with a tour that will take us to Nazareth, the city where HE grew up (Luke: 26-38), and then Cana, where Jesus performed the first miracle (John 2: 1-11). Our last visit will end at the Jordan River, the site of baptism where those who wish can renew their baptismal vows in this unique place. We will cross the border back into Jordan. Dinner in Amman.

 

Day 9, Tuesday Dec 9: Transfer to the airport for our return flight. Arrival home in America in the afternoon. Welcome! You have arrived from a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day 1, December 1, Monday: Flights from the cities mentioned below. Dinner and breakfast on board.

 

Day 2, December 2, Tuesday: Arrival in Thessaloniki and transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 3, December 3, Wednesday: Philippi and Cavalla A full day excursion to Philippi, one of the most impressive New Testament sites in Greece, the starting point of Paul's missionary expansion in Europe and the site of the first Church in Greece that he founded. It is here that he met Lydia and was imprisoned for having performed an exorcism on a young slave girl. His Letter to the Philippians proudly shows where he was from this new congregation. You will be guided through the impressive archaeological site of the ancient Roman city of Philippi. From here you will continue to the attractive port city of Cavalla, known to Paul as Neapolis, where he arrived in 50 AD. It is in Cavalla that the Via Ignatiana began, which crossed Greece and reached Rome. In the afternoon you return to Thessalonica.

 

Day 4, December 4, Thursday: Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece. During a short orientation we will visit the remains of the Roman Market, the Theatre, and the Church of St. George. Two of the most famous churches in the city we will visit are the Church of St. George (Rotunda) and the Church of St. Demetrius. We will leave Thessaloniki and drive to Veria (the New Testament calls it Berea or Beroea) where Paul carried out his ministry. Although there are no remains from ancient times, you can admire the collection of modern mosaics about Paul's conversion and his vision at Troas. You can admire the mountain range of Mount Olympus which is located just south of Beroa on the way to Calamba.

 

Day 5, December 5, Friday: Meteora - Athens Today you will visit the stunning Meteora, with its rock formations, where ancient monasteries nestle firmly on the huge rocks, where you can admire exquisite examples of Byzantine art. In the afternoon we will reach Athens via the National Road. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 6, December 6, Saturday: We will proceed to visit Corinth. Apostle St. Paul lived in Corinth for 18 months, where he found a city of poor moral values and experienced rejection, but a city that eventually accepted Christianity (Acts 18:1-17). From the Bema (court) he preached to the Corinthians the Word of God. We will visit the Archaeological Museum, the Market, the Bema and the Temples. We will continue to Athens, the cradle of Western civilization. We will visit the Acropolis, the Agora, the Hills of Mars and the Pnyx where democracy was born. We will see the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Presidential Palace. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

 

Day 7, December 7, Sunday: Free day for shopping and museums in Athens or Optional Tour with cruise visiting the Islands of Aegina, Poro and Hydra with lunch included $175 additional per person (requires a minimum of 12 passengers) Dinner and accommodation in Athens.


Day 8, December 8, Monday: Flight back home.
